Senior Frontend Engineer

Senior Frontend Engineer | Omnichannel Web Platform | Frontend Platform, AI & Test Automation

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join a central web engineering team responsible for maintaining and evolving a large-scale omnichannel frontend platform. The team enables multiple product teams by providing shared frontend capabilities and focuses on improving engineering quality, scalability, and developer experience.

Join a central frontend engineering team working on a high-scale shared web platform used across multiple product teams. You will contribute to frontend architecture, improve performance and reliability, and help shape modern engineering practices including AI-assisted development and large-scale test automation. This is a role with real platform impact rather than isolated feature delivery.

About the role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for the stability, evolution and continuous improvement of a shared frontend foundation used across multiple teams and applications.

You will focus on:

* Maintaining and enhancing shared frontend libraries and platform capabilities
* Supporting teams with adoption, upgrades and migrations of frontend solutions
* Improving frontend performance, stability, observability and logging
* Expanding and strengthening end-to-end test automation using Playwright
* Improving CI/CD pipelines and quality gates for frontend delivery
* Actively driving AI-assisted development practices, including experimentation and adoption across teams

You will work in Amsterdam in a hybrid setup, collaborating closely with engineers, architects, designers and stakeholders in a large-scale enterprise environment.

About you

* Prior experience within a large omnichannel / enterprise web frontend environment (mandatory)
* 5+ years of frontend development experience
* Strong experience with shared frontend platforms, design systems or libraries
* Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
* Experience with modern frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular or Lit
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and complex Git workflows (Azure DevOps experience required)
* Experience with frontend test automation (Playwright is a strong plus)
* Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility and frontend architecture
* Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum / Kanban)
* Practical experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot
* Strong communication skills in English
