Role OverviewHealth Italia is building a new Medical Analytics capability within the Group IT Department and is looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to support the evolution of our data, analytics, and AI ecosystem.The role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data platforms and pipelines that support operational reporting, business intelligence, medical analytics, automation, and future AI initiatives across the Group.The ideal candidate is a senior technical professional with strong experience in modern data engineering practices, cloud-based data architectures, integrations, ETL/ELT pipelines, and large-scale data processing environments.Experience in healthcare, insurance, welfare, or other regulated industries managing sensitive data is considered a strong advantage.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processesBuild and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics environmentsIntegrate data from multiple internal and external systems, APIs, and platformsSupport the implementation of reporting, operational analytics, and business intelligence initiativesCollaborate with IT, business, and external vendors on data architecture and integrationsEnsure data quality, integrity, consistency, and governance across systemsSupport cloud-based data infrastructure and modern analytics platformsContribute to future AI, automation, and predictive analytics initiativesParticipate in technical architecture decisions and platform evolutionProduce and maintain technical documentation and data flow mappingsRequired Skills & Experience5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related technical rolesStrong knowledge of SQL and relational database systemsExperience with ETL/ELT tools and large-scale data processingStrong experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native environments (AWS and Azure preferred)Experience with Databricks and modern analytics/data processing platformsExperience designing and maintaining data warehouses and analytics platformsKnowledge of APIs, integrations, and data synchronization processesExperience with Python and/or .NET environments is considered a plusStrong understanding of data modelling and data architecture principlesExperience with reporting and BI environmentsFamiliarity with security, GDPR, and sensitive data handling best practicesStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and within cross-functional teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience in healthcare, insurance, welfare, or regulated industriesExperience with modern analytics ecosystems and AI-related initiativesFamiliarity with cloud-native architectures and distributed systemsExperience working in complex multi-system enterprise environmentsLanguage RequirementsFluent English (mandatory)ItalianWhat We OfferOpportunity to contribute to a major digital transformation programParticipation in the creation of a new Medical Analytics functionExposure to modern cloud, analytics, and AI initiativesDynamic and international working environmentHigh-impact role with visibility across the Group
