Job Description:


We are looking to recruit a Data Service Provision Officer with experience in data provision services operations. The job holder will conduct EGNSS service operations activities, from the Agency GNSS Service Centre, and contribute to infrastructure management activities led by the Agency in its role of EGNSS Exploitation Manager. The jobholder will be entrusted with the following tasks and responsabilities (or relevant subset):

  • Manage the operations of EGNSS data distribution services delivered by the Agency and ensure that those services are delivered according to their specifications;
  • Define and maintain the operational documentation (processes and procedures) associated to the delivery of EGNSS data distribution services;
  • Analyse the user requests, and supervise the answers and helpdesk activities related to the services;
  • Establish a Key Performance Indicators monitoring system related to EGNSS data distribution services and ensure its continuous implementation and reporting;
  • Contribute to the Service business continuity plan of the Agency, including 24/7 on call duty responsibilities when required;
  • Contribute to the definition of EGNSS Data Service Definition Documents specifying the service characteristics and commitments towards users;
  • Analyse the user needs and participate in the service engineering processes striving for continuous improvement of EGNSS data distribution services;
  • Define technical specifications applicable to the design, development, production and maintenance of the service facilities, support the delivery of EGNSS data distribution services, review and verify their proper implementation and assess the acceptability of potential deviations to such requirements with respect to the Agency objectives and service commitments;
  • Liaise with other departments, as well as with external partners such as the European Commission, the EGNSS Service Providers/Operators, the products manufacturers and maintainers;
  • Support the Agency management as needed and take on additional tasks as required in the interest of the service.


Note: Duties may evolve according to development of the Agency’s structure and activities, and management decisions.

The position is located at the Galileo Service Centre in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid, Spain) and may imply travelling to the Agency’s headquarters and other locations in Europe.

Job Requirements:

The selection procedure is open to applicants who satisfy the following eligibility criteria, on the closing date for application:

  1. Have a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma
  2. Appropriate professional experience of at least three years after having obtained the required diploma
  3. Be a national of a Member State of the European Union  
  4. Be entitled to his or her full rights as citizen
  5. Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the applicable laws concerning military service
  6. Meet the character requirements for the duties involved
  7. Have a thorough knowledge of one of the languages of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the European Union to the extent necessary for the performance of his/her duties
  8. Be physically fit to perform the duties linked to the post

Essential criteria

  • University degree in exact sciences (e.g. engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science);
  • Experience in data provision services activities;

  • Experience in user support or helpdesk services;

Salary Benefits:


The remuneration consists of a basic salary and, where applicable, additional allowances, paid on a monthly basis and reimbursements, paid upon their evidenced occurrence.

The sum of the basic salary and the applicable additional allowances is weighted by the correction coefficient applicable for the location of the post. The sum of usual social deductions from salary at source is subtracted from the weighted amount. The full pay is exempted from the national income tax, but is subject to the internal income tax and the solidarity levy.

Staff is entitled to annual leave of two working days per each complete calendar month of service plus additional days for the grade, age, home leaves for expatriates and an average of 16 GSA public holidays per year.

Special leave is granted for certain circumstances such as marriage, moving, elections, birth or adoption of a child, serious sickness of spouse, etc.
