This is an exciting opportunity for an inquisitive student to gain hands on experience in research and bid management within this UK leader in renewable energies for the public sector. Mentored throughout, you will be conducting research into grant funding opportunities for innovative renewable and low carbon energy projects. You will assist to produce a comprehensive overview of the funding streams available, formulate a delivery plan and complete bid applications. This challenging, yet exciting project will be a great opportunity for both personal and professional development.

 Gain an understanding of the host company business model and identify key opportunities for future funding bids
 Completion of research into grant funding opportunities for renewable energy projects in the public-sector
 Completion of research into partnership opportunities between the host and other public-sector bodies in the delivery of renewable energy projects
 Presentation of findings, recommendations and suggestions for an implementation plan for securing grant funding opportunities and / or partnerships.
 Completion of funding bids and liaising directly with grant funding bodies e.g., Innovate UK, Research Councils, Government Departments
 Submit bids to secure grant funding

The Host Company
This innovative host company works with local authorities throughout the UK to deliver renewable energy projects providing savings, new income streams and environmental benefits. As well as developing over 170MW of solar to date, the company has developed the largest grid connected solar scheme and operates the UKs first Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) plant which uses household waste as its primary fuel stock. The company is also currently developing one of the UK’s largest battery storage projects. If you are interested in funding for sustainability projects, then this will provide an attractive experience.

Job Requirements:

 Working towards a degree in sustainability and / or energy related degree
 Strong communications skills
 Team player with the ability to work autonomously
 Good understanding of and a keen interest in renewable energy opportunities and threats
 Individual should be proactive and dynamic
 Knowledge / experience in producing project proposals
 Knowledge / understanding of finance
 Knowledge / understanding of renewable project development process.
