The Host Company
The host company is a market leader in digital pathology workflow software, serving over 40,000 users worldwide. Established in 2004, they have specialised in using image analysis of tissue scans to identify cancers at early stages. This innovative Digital Pathology is aimed at reducing the workload of Pathologists by allowing for fast, accurate diagnosis and grading of tumours, so that correct treatments can be put in place as soon as possible. Recently acquired by a world leading electrical giant with a strong focus on healthcare, these are exciting times for the host.

This is a great opportunity for a keen Computer Scientist who wants to gain practical experience in software development for this world leader in Digital Pathology. Mentored throughout, you will assist the Life Sciences Team in the integration and development of key software products. This internship will be a great addition to your CV and boost to your career prospects, along with the satisfaction of knowing that you will be contributing to medical research.

• Working as part of a team to build software applications from initial specification to final deployment and acceptance
• Building web applications to support algorithm portfolio
• Automating tests using testing tools and scripts
• Rapid prototyping of new ideas
• Functional, performance and stress testing of the product
• Manual testing of the product.

Job Requirements:

Personal Skills
• Background in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Experience in at least one OOP language, preferably C# or Java
• Good problem solver
• Knowledge of .Net
• Knowledge of the agile programming methodology and a continuous integration development environment
• Experience with .NetCore
• Experience with Angular
• Experience with Typescript
• Experience of writing and building unit and integration tests.
