Senior Software Engineer, Distribution Platform

This role focuses on CloudBlue, a HostPapa business that powers cloud commerce for many of the world’s largest service providers, including major Telcos, distributors, and MSPs. CloudBlue enables partners to monetize and manage cloud services and subscriptions at scale, combining the agility of a high-growth business with the backing of a global organization. As the Senior Software Engineer, Distribution Platform , you will be responsible for building and evolving the CloudBlue platform, a microservices-based SaaS solution running on modern cloud infrastructure. You will play a key role in driving an AI-first engineering culture, using AI not as an add-on but as a core part of how software is designed, built, tested, and operated. You will work across backend services, APIs, and user-facing applications used by thousands of businesses, while helping the team adopt and scale AI-driven development practices. You will be part of a distributed, remote-first engineering team that balances autonomy with the scale and stability of a growing organization. What you'll do: + Build and maintain backend services and APIs in Python, using AI-assisted development and automation as a standard part of the workflow + Own features end-to-end, from design through production, with accountability for quality, performance, and maintainability + Actively drive AI adoption within the engineering team by introducing, refining, and scaling AI-driven workflows across the development lifecycle + Identify opportunities where AI can reduce manual effort, improve code quality, accelerate delivery, or improve operational reliability + Develop and support single-page applications using Vue + Work closely with engineers in small, cross-functional feature teams + Collaborate with Product Managers and other teams to deliver measurable business value + Partner with your Engineering Manager to support technical growth, mentorship, and career development + Support other tasks or projects as assigned to meet team and business needs About you: + 5+ years of professional software engineering experience + Strong hands-on experience with Python and backend service development + Proven experience helping teams adopt new engineering practices, particularly related to AI-driven development + Strong experience designing, building, and integrating APIs + Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and relational databases + Working knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose + Experience with unit and end-to-end testing + Experience with Django, DRF, or FastAPI + Frontend experience with Vue or React + Familiarity with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and basic infrastructure concepts + Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP + Fluent in English, with strong communication skills What we offer: + Work from anywhere - this is a remote opportunity + A competitive salary that values you and your unique skill sets + Career advancement & professional development opportunities to help you reach your full potential + Flexible work arrangements to support work/life balance About us: At HostPapa, we’ve been committed to providing a complete array of enterprise-grade cloud services solutions to every business owner since 2006.
